Well i had tein h-tech springs installed a couple thousand miles ago. Ive been waiting to get the alignment to let them settle. Now, the car definitely needs an alignment, its pulling and the steering wheel is not level while driving straight. I took it to my infiniti dealership and they wouldnt touch it, saying theres no way they can get it back to spec (which im questioning, wouldnt they be the best to get it back?) So i took it to Bob sumerel, and they said that they need the original specs to do it. My question is, what specs would i need to take in to give to them, can someone specify those for me? Do i use the specs that the car came from the factory with? Or are there certain specs to use with the lowering springs? Im sorry for being such an idiot about this, i had figured that i could take it into the dealership and they could straighten things out for me. I really feel like im missing something about why everyone is making this so difficult to get done, its not like its an extreme drop at all. Again, sorry for the stupid questions and i really appreciate any help.

 

dealers sometimes give you a hard time because people complain after
doing the alignment that it's not back to specs even though they are
using aftermarket bits.

ofcourse it may not go back to specs. lol

you might want to take it into a specialty shop to do the alignment.
ive yet to take my car to the dealer to get it done actually. check your
local yellowpages or your car buddies in your area. a lot of tire stores
do alignments too. they have data wat the stock alignment should be.

tell them you want the camber as close to stock as possible and
use the factory toe angles.

i had mine done at a specialty shop that also does alignments for exotics.

 

Most alignment shops should be able to help you out, but if not, call your local tuner shop and find out where they usually send guys with modified cars. They should be able to get your rear camber, rear toe, and front toe close to factory specs, but won't be able to do much about front camber since the stock arms arent' adjustable.

Tell them to align you to the factory specs for an 03 coupe w/ 18" wheels (I think that's what you have). You can find the specs here. After you get used to this kind of stuff, you can have your alignment shop set everything to whatever specs you want, but this is a good starting point.

Also, if you want to get everything back to specs, you should get at least a rear camber / toe kit. You can get them for as little as $170 from the vendors on this site.

Pretty much what everyone said front camber can't be adjusted, rear can but not enough to get you back into spec (usually) so you WILL need a camber kit. I used the ebach pro kit and i still needed front and rear kits I was hoping I could get away without it

 

You're going to need front and rear camber kits if you want to adjust the camber. There is no adjustment for camber in the ront and very little in the rear.

The alignment specs should be available at the alignment shop, but you can also find them in the factory service manual. Then you have to decide how you want the alignment numbers - more camber for better handling in the curves or less camber for better tire wear.
