THERE ARE NO STANDARDS, zero testing for aftermarket pads sold in US.

^ Not a big deal man, some people just prefer something that doesn't get their wheels full of brake dust. It doesn't mean the pads are sh*tty, just cuz they don't produce a lot of brake dust. But on the flipside, I see your point.

what get good brakes with terrible brake dust when you can get good brakes with good brake dust?

More braking = more dusting.

It's simple physics.

Within the "street pad" category, there are pads that will stop faster than others while still braking less, but those will generally cost more. When you generalize it to ALL pads, the highest performance pads will always dust the most, while the lowest performance pads will dust the least. Now this doesn't mean that you can't have a very low performance pad with a lot of dust.
