HKS Hipermax III SPORT

I've been contemplating between getting the HKS Hipermax III or the Hipermax III SPORT. According to the HKS website, the spring rates for the III are 9f/9r (504/504 lb-in) whereas the HKS Hipermax III SPORT are 11f/12r (616/672 lb-in).

I know these differences are significant. And the III SPORT is marketed for the race track as opposed to the III which are marketed for the street.

Anyone have any feedback on using the HKS Hipermax III SPORT for the street? Since they are almost identical in price, im tempted on going with the SPORT since I would be willing to sacrafice a little driveability for improved handling. (But not too much, as its my daily driver).

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Henry when it comes to coilovers and ride quality it comes to how well the shocks are valved to work with given springs. For example my coilovers have better ride quality on their softest setting than the tein S-techs that i used to have. I would go with SPORT (11kg/12kg) and hopefuly the shocks will work with those springs if u need them to be soft. IN fact im thinking of getting 12kg all around from BC instead of my 8/10 setup.

^ That's the reason why im looking at these coilovers. At the Z forums, most Hipermax III owners love them for their improved handling without sacraficing ride quality.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Hipermax coilovers. But I haven't heard much feedback on the III Sport. I'm sure they have superior handling characteristics, but how much ride quality would be sacraficed is my biggest concern.

I guess I'll just have to find out myself

Ur young man! just go with the stiff ones. If the shocks are valved good u shouldn't see a dramatic difference in ride quality.

i got with the hypermax III, i got them and on 80% stiffist they handle amazingly. However i just moved into the city and might need to turn then back alittle softer. Overly stiff coilover will hurt more than help your ride quality unless your on perfectly smooth ground(track). i

im going with the HipermaxIII route , just cause i'll track my car maybe 2 or 3 times a year and i'll be daily driving it so it would suit the needs for me. unless your going to track alot then go with the HipermaxIII

if you do beat the car more then the sport would be the way to go , hope that helps in some way

Thanks for all your inputs, though I already know/experienced everything you guys have stated.

I just want to know if there has been someone who has driven a G35 with the regular III and the III Sport. It seems like I will have a hard time finding that individual

I'm interested in the Hipermax III too....I haven't been able to find real world pictures of them. Where is the adjustment **** on the rear shocks, is it at the bottom or at the top where you would need to remove the shock to adjust?

Sorry Skaterbasist to add on to your post
