How long do the Brembo brakes on a G35 last?

I have a 2004 Infiniti G35 with only 20,000 miles on it. What is the life on the Brembo brakes and when should the pads and rotors be replaced?

no but really, it depends how you drive. If you drive like my wife then you might get 15k out of them. If you are relatively easy on them then you should get >30k from the pads and more out of the rotors. There is a cutout on the calipers to let you see how much pad you have left.

my second post was as serious as a heart attack. If you brake hard often or ride your brakes then they will wear faster. There isn't a "Brembo brake pads last xxxxx miles" rule. In fact, there aren't any of those applicable to our car or any cars. Inspect your pads often and take appropriate action if they are thin.

i know...i think i posted it when you were still typing your second post. thanks for the info. i don't brake hard, but do ride my breaks instead of using the clutch to slow down.

so is it safe to say that at 20k it is normal for the brembo brakes to be replaced? or is that at the lower end of the spectrum? i'm just looking for an average range of when to expect the brakes to be replaced for an average driver. say between 20k-30k? help is much appreciated.

sounds about right then.....around 20k for the fronts. I took my car to get serviced and the tech guys at the dealer said the front brake pads are about 80% used and suggested i change them. they also suggested the rear brake pads, said they were about 70% used but i told them i would do them next time. just to get the front brake pads changed out and the rotor sanded/machined (not sure if this is the right term) it costs $379, which is crazy since the front brake pads only cost about $150 to purchase online. the labor costs are so expensive.

Which is why most of us choose to get aftermarket slotted rotors and brake pads.

I changed my first set of front pads at 17.5k, and they probably had another 10-15% of life left, and the front rotors had decent thickness left so I did not turn them. I am still on my original rear set of pads and rotors at 23k..

Brake usage is completely dependant on your driving conditions and habits.

Fast hard stops will wear your brakes less than long slow stops. Avoid riding brakes, and only use them when necessary; coasting saves you brakes AND gas, and doesn't cost you any time done correctly.

The Brembos are very good brakes

Miles of life is meaningless without applications and durations in fractional seconds per mile. Ambient temperature and time interval must be added to mix,

Everyone has different traffic and driving conditions.
Why anywhere in 20k for all city traffic [NYC] to 60k for all rural interstate range is normal.
