I think I am just going to save up some money and go for the G37 BBK upgrade.
it seems most aftermarket rotors need to be painted to avoid the "rust belt". just got off the phone with DBA and they have the same issue as Stoptech with their replacement rotors.
almost any rotor you buy, other than OEM, will likely need some paint to prevent rust between the hat and where the pads actually touch the rotors. But you will pay a lot more for OEM rotors, unless you upgrade to a BBK of course.

right. But when you go to buy non OEM rotors for the G37 brakes, you're probably going to have to paint them too if you don't want a rust ring. Don't get me wrong, your car will look better with the G37 brakes.
With a two piece rotor you shouldn't get any rust between where the caliper sits and the hat. You should look into the Megans, $3000 for something much better than the G37 brakes.
I've had mine on for a year, no rust.

Folks what do you mean by the Roton HAT area?
On my OEM rotor on my 05 G I have rust in the middle of the rotor is that where you call the HAT?
So I'm not understanding why you guys are saying OEM rotors don't rust. Can someone explain with a picture please?
Thanks

[QUOTE=white_gts]Folks what do you mean by the Roton HAT area?
- the unswept area of the rotor that mounts to hub of the wheel and back of wheel mounts up against. hope that helps.

- if these are OEM, there should not be any rust, unless paint is worn off.

- OEM should not have any rust issues.
