Monroe Sensatrac

Hi, I just bought a 2003 G35 sedan and while the car is in GREAT condition...the suspension is shot.

I will stay on stock non-sport springs so my question is... has anyone tried monroe sensatrac shocks on their car? I can get then very cheap, I just don't know if they are good or not.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat now. After 3 years my sport shocks have finaly given out and started leaking. I'm looking at Tokico D-specs to replace them as I have heard they will work and last better with a lowered car. I have been on here since late 04' and have never heard of anone using Monroe shocks, but that doesn't mean there isn't anyone using them.

How bout' it members?

Are you guys bouncing all over the place or something? How do you know its shot without taking out the wheel and looking at the shocks itself?

I don't think I've ever heard of them; however, if you don't mind paying for them, Tokico D-Spec shocks are awesome.

One of the sponsors has them on here for less than $500 for the set. 16 way adjustable.

I personally don't know if they are shot...I was just going to do the entire thing all together. The suspension rides horrid...it's teeth rattling harsh and the entire car jitters when going over even the smallest bumps. It doesn't bounce to bad but it's barely drivable it's so harsh.

No way non-sport suspension should be harsh, def something wrong. Have you inspected all of them? If it doesn't bounce, it may not be the shocks.

I visually inspected it today. The rear passenger shock is blown ( leaking ) but the rest don't LOOK blown. The rest of the bushings look good and so do the ball joints...at least visually they look good ).

Could the springs be brittle or something? It literally feels like it's riding on the bare rims.

BTW- my car has 86000 miles on stock suspension.

Historically [ my 18 years of owning one] Infiniti vehicles have shocks that last 4 years and ~~ 60,000 miles depending on local road harshness and temperature. Waiting until they leak is way overdue for replacement.

If Monroe makes shocks specifically for your non-sport sedan AND you can get them super-cheap, why not try a set and see if it makes a difference. Then move on to springs etc.
