The temperature rise of a rotor is directly a function of weight..........if a oem weights 18 pounds and a giant after market kit weights 22 pounds the heavier will operate 20% cooler.
If a oem gains 160F [above ambient in a single 60 mph panic stop] a big brake rotor might only gain 160 x 0.8= ~128F.
There are obviously variances in what ever heat gets conducted to bearing/hubs and wheels and tires from each rotor.
Above 80 mph and with brake durations exceeding 3 seconds you must calculate air flow cooling.
But on the street all about rotor weight.

Hmm i dont know about those... but i just installed the racing brake rotors I ordered ... got them installed with stock pads (the rotors are slotted not drilled
). They feel AMAZING... thank you one and all for swaying me towards these. Just got back from the "bed in" and wow... they grab hold and never let go haha... Feels about 10% better than OEM

Racing Brake inc. rotors are one the best kept secrets in the aftermarket industry. They make some outstanding products and the price is right.

awesome rotors. had them on for a week, and paired with Project Mu NS pads and stillen steel lines, they are perfect. every non-work surface is powder-coated or painted black. fairly light (few lbs lighter than OEM or my old stillens) ,work extremely well even in hard stops, don't rust nearly as much as stillens did in the rain overnight. highly recommend, and the price is right.Originally Posted by codeflux

ended up getting some centric rotors all-around for mine also... too bad i found a coupon code after i've ordered... called customer service and they say they'll try to refund the difference but no word from them since... fronts are about 23 lbs a piece and rears are about 14lb a piece. can't wait to get pads and ss brake lines to arrive to install.
