Do i need new endlinks?

I have been trying to find more info on this but I haven't gotten the answer I was looking for.

I plan on getting the Stillen sway bars and with them I will be adding Tanabe GF210 springs and Tokico blue struts.

I want to know...do I need new endlinks? I don't want to just be 'ok' with the stock ones. I want to know if they will hold up on the stiffest setting for a couple years.

If they are going to fail, I don't want to have to install them a year from now; I just want to do it all at the same time.

Please let me know.

Jeff

Not sure if you will need the endlinks.

Think long and hard about those GF210 springs! They have bad spring rates (softer than stock) and the quality is horrible! I had a set on my coupe and the sagged so bad I had to replace them in less than two years.

The spring rates are 20%-30% stiffer than stock. I didn't want a harsher than stock ride, that's why I chose them. Thanks for the info though.

It's hard to say with any certainty whether your endlinks will hold up. If your car is 05+, then they should be a bit beefier than the ones on the 03-04, making them more likely to last, but it depends on how many miles and how much abuse they have already sustained. If you're really worried about it, get new ones, or go aftermarket. Ultimately, installing new endlinks isn't that big of a deal anyway, but if it gives you peace of mind, change 'em out.

Also, why not go with D-Specs instead of Blues so you can have the adjustability in ride quality and handling?

I think I'm going to play it safe and get the SPL endlinks. I know I'm going to abuse my suspension after I do the installs in the spring. I wanted the Blues because I'm cheap. I don't need the adjustability, although it would be nice, I cannot justify spending double the money. I don't want to keep the stocks because I think they will be too soft and they already have 65k on them.

Makes sense, but realize that SPL or Powergrid endlinks are pretty expensive in and of themselves. One option you could consider as a tradeoff is to go new OEM on the endlinks, stick with Med settings on your sways, and then get adjustable Tokicos and dial up the shock stiffness a bit, which I feel is needed anyway, if your car is an 03-04. what year is your car, BTW?

My car is an '04 6mt. Which kind of adj Tokicos are you talking about...the D-specs? I know the endlinks are expensive but since the Stillen bars only have 70% stiffer setting on the hard setting, I plan on running front and rear on hard/hard or at the least med/hard. I have seen a pic of the Powergrids and based on looks alone, the SPLs look of better strength.

Btw...how much would oem endlinks be...the updated ones?

Yes, the Tokico D-specs. I don't have them, but they've been recommended to me, and based on my reading through many posts about them on this forum, they seem like a good way to go. I will put those on when it's time to do shocks, if not sooner for the handling benefit.

I hear you on the sway settings - hard/hard doesn't add that much stiffness and I may give it a try soon - but realize the OEM '04 coupe shocks are pretty softly damped.

Endlinks are about $17-22/piece. Try everythingg35.com and look through the OEM parts catalog there.

I have a sedan, so I'm sure those struts are even softer or at least the same. That's why I wanted to upgrade the struts. I know the Blues aren't the best but I thought they would do just fine. Where do people get those revised endlinks I've been hearing about?
