I noticed creaking from the front of the car going slow over cracks/bumps the other night when it was really quiet outside.

I'm in the process of finding the most inexpensive RODS.

Do you have a part number for this "revised" bushing? Where does the bushing go? It's not the bushing between the upper control arm and the knuckle right? This is the bushing on the compression rod itself?

As long as you don't need a gear puller or anything, I'd hate to pay that much for them to replace the bushing!

You need a special press to install the bushing. It is not something you will be able to do and most shops will probably not do it (besides the dealer). Anyway, there are two ends to the compression rod. I'm not going to replace just one bushing because the other end might be shot as well. I would rather replace the whole rod.

You can find the installation of the bushing in a TSB .PDF...

If I have an extended warranty does the dealership cover it? Does the fact that I have aftermarket suspension parts void that?

I thought you only had to replace the Compression Rod Bushings to solve the problem. Now you also have to replace the Compression Rod as well.

Check your bushings of the Lower Control Arm (also known as Tranverse link), I had this problem and it felt like my front end was "skipping" during high speed cornering:

My bushing was totally torn apart and the arm was no longer centered

I just had both mine replaced and feels like new and no more thumping noise. For those in four season climates, beware that the right side have a higer tendency of the bushings seizing - what a pain in the *** removing that SH*t!
