Stillen Sway Bar Bushings
Stillen Sway Bar Bushings
I am planning on ordering the prothane bushings but I notice that the Stillen sways are 35mm front/22mm rear and the prothane bushings are 34mm / 21mm like stock. Will this be ok since the Stillen sway bars are suppose to use the factory bushings anyways or should I find the right size bushings for the sways?
Prothane bushings worked fine for me
I just put Stillen sways and prohtane bushings (from Summit Racing) on my 03 sedan and they work fine. I also put the supersticky lubricant on both sides of the bushings because that's the way the stock ones looked. I had read somewhere that the poly bushings transmit harsh vibrations, so in a fit of shadetree engineering, I made gaskets out of 1/8" fiber-rubber sheet and put under the sway bar mounts. I have no idea if this works, but there was no downside to the install except for a little more chop on the worst expansion joints and potholes. I have both bars set in the middle holes, but I plan to move the fronts to the lowest setting to improve the ride and slightly kick up the oversteer. Overall I am very pleased with the new sways; I am enjoying the control and flat cornering. Next on my list are Eibach Pro springs for a 1" drop and Tokio D spec struts. Good Luck!
