when the wheels are spinning (as a result of no traction) they aren't supporting the weight of the vehicle, so it doesn't take much pressure to slow those wheels to that of the front. I doubt that it affects rear brake life dramatically

Sorry, but strongly disagree with you.
I'm specifically talking about the rear pads wearing out too quickly (30K miles) and the front rotors warping for no apparent reason other than lack of quality.
I'm not sure what you are used to, perhaps this is the best you have experienced.

I'm hoping the new pads that I just put on will do better!
If the pulsating comes back, I'll purchase a better aftermarket set of rotors.

Like I said earlier, my fronts have outlasted the rears in my 05. I think for the 2005 RWD, and 2006 models, Infiniti "overdid" the front brakes to address the concern of dusting and pre-mature wear from previous years, which may result in the fronts outlasting the rears.

it is very strange that the rears die before the fronts...If I DID have excessive dust, I would understand it better. But, I hardly have any dust on the Sedan wheels.
When I bought my coupe (used), the dealer had just put on new Nissan pads.
They produce a TON of dust, but stop on a dime. Very performance oriented.
But, more dust that I would like. When the pads on the Coupe wear out, will probably go with some Hawks. But, got plenty of time.

Very aggresive pads are what allowed a 3400lb sedan on 11.5" rotors to stop in 110 ft from 60mph.

In 05, the sedan stopped in 111ft from 60mph, with much less dust and much less wear on the rotors. But with the same cold 1 stop performance as before. Which is why I upgraded to these brakes

I changed my brake pads out at 30K, and again at 70K. While the rotors looked fine, I changed them out at 70K anyways.

Brakes Brake Hell

I have an 04 with 35.5 and have already replace the front brakes n rotors at 18k. I'm being told by the dealer that I need both replaced again and pads on the rear. Can this be possible? Can I get brakes that will last longer? Not a gear head-- appreciate any feedback.

the ft brakes on 03-04 g's are complete garbage. the pads are much too agressive for the rotors, thus causing "short" life.

from my experiences, most g's go 30-40k on rear pads. in fact that how most infinitis wear their rear brakes.

60-0 in 110ft is "garbage"? Not bad for tiny arsed 11.5" front rotors.

On my 05 coupe (5at, sport suspension) I changed out my rear pads at 35K and the fronts at 40K (both with OEM) and didn't resurface the rotors. I don't track or anything crazy like that...this is my daily driver bought the car in 1/06 with 12 miles on it. They have 80K on it now and no "squealing" yet. However, I don't know if these rotors were intended to be run this long without changing them out. What do you guys think? I haven't measured the rotors width and probably won't. I'll probably change out the rotors and pads in the next month or so. I decided to change out the rotors/pads early after driving my friend's stock 07 TL and realized how much initial bite I've lost on my brakes...feels like a sponge actually in comparison.

I've been looking into getting centric blanks with hawk hps pads. Entertained getting DBA 4000XS (they look pretty sick) with Hawk HPS but I have a feeling the drilled areas will crack within 50K. If they last me 50K, I'd be happy but I've seen lots of cracked drilled rotors ranging from G35s to AMGs way before that. But I'm thinking maybe I should just stick with OEMs for both rotors and pads since they've given me 80K of service without problems. These are my only three options... Any recommendations?

Here is the link to the centrics:
http://www.zeckhausen.com/Infiniti/G35-2.htm

Anyone know of a good site for the DBAs?
