Do-it-yourself Pads

I am thinking of replacing the brakepads myself, but I am not sure if the G35s need a special rachetting tool to get it done? Does anyone know? and if they do need the tool where can I get it from?

Thank you.

The only special tool you need is a "C" clamp or disc brake caliper tool of the proper size.

Less than 10 bux at most auto stores.

I have changed mine 3 times already.

Thank you guys. Just ot make sure, do I need a tool to compress the caliper? and, does this apply to both front and rear breaks?? example: there are some cars you need to turn while compressing the caliper.

thanks!

You are correct. On my 240 you had to use an attachment on your rachet to turn the rears. I had to do this on my cobra too.....I think...
You do not need this on a G35.
You just use the old pad and compress it back in with a large C clamp.

Remember to use a good quallity pad, I had no idea how cheap they were until I found them at the grocery store....

They don't seem to last very long, but I've got real good at poking them in with a screwdriver.
