Looking for a Drop and Spacers on Stock 18 - Serengeti Sand - Advise please

Hi Guys,

I have a serengeti sand G35 coupe and I dont know what would look good on it wheel-wise, so I thought I would just drop it on lowering springs and add a spacer for the looks.

So far this is what my research shows. 20mm spacer for the front and 25 for the back. Tein H-tech or S-tech springs.

I read a lot about the lowering springs, and some say the ride will become more smooth. To be honest I like the stiffness of the Infiniti sport suspension and would not like to lose it. What springs should I install that keeps the car hard vs. soft?

And just a question, what do you guys think would look good on the G35 coupe in serengeti sand (gold)? I cannot decide on what wheels to get if any.

Thanks a lot,

Ben

p.s. This is how the car looks now, plus Clear Corners.

Get OEM 19's, H&R Springs, 20/15 spacers and it'll look clean

G35 H-techs would be a waste of time and money. The drop is infintesimal.

Even the G35 S-techs are only about a 3/4" drop and not worth it.

I got about an inch and a half with 350z s-techs and it is perfect and doesn't rub.

got 20mm all around spacers too. Maybe could have gone 25 but 5mm ain't something I would notice. I love the way it looks now

Thanks I will go for the 350Z S-techs. I found it for 192USD at everythingg35.com, not a bad deal.

If I have the stock 18inch rims, should the 20 all around be okay for spacers, or shall I get 25s for the back? The back is really way in under the chassis.

Thanks,

Ben

Be sure to research camber kits in order to accommodate your drop.

Thanks for the info, I am looking into buying the camber kits as well. Someone on another "local" forum suggested I buy toe-arms too, do you think that's really necessary? I would like to keep costs down as much as possible for now,

Thanks

Ben

You're welcome.

Maybe someone else here with direct experience can chime in on adjustable toe arms. I'm not lowered that much and don't have kits on my car.

Ichiba and spc rear camber kits (same thing, different color) come with toe bolts that offer more adjustment range than stock and are enough to get you back in spec. You won't need to replace the stock toe arms

Guys,

I just returned from the shop where they installed the spacers and the S-techs (350 type).

I have 20s in the front and 25s in the back in terms of spacers.

Guys is it just me or the S-techs are really soft? I have the sport package with the sport suspension from factory and now its really much softer and coming off speed bumps it rubs in the back. Also I tried pushing the back down with my hands and it feels very soft. If I put one hand on the tyre and with the other I push the back down, the fender touches my hand that sits on the tyre.

What is wrong here guys? I never felt the G's suspension so soft.

Any help is appreciated.

For information, in the garage they just removed the old springs and installed the new ones. Nothing was added and nothing was removed. The rubber cushion stayed as well. Anything we missed?

Thanks,

Ben

Guys,

I think I found the problem. The car had a small fender-bender a few months back with the rear-left fender bent a little. The garage fixed it, but from only looking at it, it seems perfect. Now that I thought of it, I realized that they must have not pulled the fender out enough and that is why the left side rubs when touches.

Oh yes, I forgot to say, its only the left side where I have the rubbing.

I will go back this weekend and get them to pull the fender a couple of milli meters.

However, I still think that the spring is very soft. Did you also feel that the stock ride was "rough"-er than the ride you have after the drop on 350Z S-techs?

Thanks

Ben
