So I got an email reply back today from Eibach. They are willing to send me replacements for the fronts, I am trying to get them to send me the whole set because I am getting some clunking in the rear as well. We will see if they agree.
The thing is that since I first spoke with them on Monday they told me that the ETA for replacement springs would be middle of May! I ended up picking up a set of Tien H techs from another member yesterday. Just my luck.

...sounds good that they're working with you.
You can always install the Tein H & then sell the Eibachs if you get them.

or even sell the teins after you get the eibachs... im glad eibach is willing to replace the fronts and working with you to possibly replace the rears as well. It's good to see a company stand behind its product.

I am inclined to believe that the salt was a major factor in rusting which probably made your springs so weak that it cracked, however i am no expert.

I put Eibach springs on my Q45 in 1994 at 40,000 miles currently have 322,000 miles on Q. That is 282,000 miles on springs I looked this morning as I do every 90 days [oil change] and every 4 years when I replace shocks..................they look fine paint still shiny.

Do you have salt on your roads and fail to wash undercarriage every day/week?

But then again 15 year old anything may be better than todays cost cutting minimalistic steel quality.

is there anything we can spray on springs to make it less likely to get corroded? i can feel the pain since i live in toronto and we use salt on the road in winter time, i hate it a lot as it makes your car dirty and more prone to rusting and parts dying faster

I would suggest LPS3, it works great. We used it on all kinds of outdoor equipment at the nuclear site I worked at.

Here is a link : http://www.lpslabs.com/product_pg/corrosion_pg/LPS3.html

Another product I have used for years are Rust Check products. Rust Check Coat and Protect would work well although it is a bit messier.
