04 g35 coupe with brembos question

does anyone know what this bolt thing is on the rotor of an 04 g35c with brembos? a buddy of mine wanted to buy my 20" wheels off me and when we were trying to test fit the rims, this bolt thing was in the way. what is that??? it's not one of the studs, but its welded into the rotor. it's pretty long, it's almost as long as the studs. i circled where it's at on the rotor, but it looks a little different from the picture

The link above applies for the front wheels.

This diagram that you showed is for the rear wheels, you will see once you remove it that it doesn't hold anything together. It's just to prevent dust from getting into the parking brake. However, when you need to adjust the parking brake, you will need to unscrew the bolt to access the parking brake. However, this bolt in the rear has never gotten in my way when I put on aftermarket wheels.

You have to remove that bolt and spacer to fit most aftermarket wheels, like 99% of them. Its harmless, so dont worry about it. Just keep it around in case you ever go back to stock, but no one really notice it missing anyway...I dont recall where I put mine anymore.

Ok. Cool. Thanks for the replies. Oh, so there's a rear bolt too? So he might want to have both the front and rear bolts removed since it was preventing us from fitting my 20" rim onto the hub?

The bolt is to prevent putting the rear wheels in the front. I had to remove my fronts when I put on my Volks for the first time, they just screw right off. I can't remember for sure if I had them in the rears, but I'm pretty sure I didn't.

Do 04 brembo and 07 non brembo coupes have the same bolt pattern?

All G coupes and sedans have the same bolt pattern, offsets between the coupes and sedans are different depending on brake setup etc.

The rear rotors do not have a bolt that needs to be removed, the rubber cap with the slot is there to make access to the rear-drum brake pads adjustment easy. Keep it on there to keep out any extra dust and moisture...it does not affect wheel fitment.
