300zx turbo calipers

Hey my uncle has a twin turbo 300zx with its stock brake setup. Its a 4 piston bigbrake kit and i was wondering if the rotors and calipers would fit on my 04 coupe, since its kinda the ssame acenstoral line LOL. BTW anyone know why this wouldnt be a gud idea? has the way calipers r made developed since the 300zx's era or anything? I think there brembo's not to sure

Exactly what i was thinking the other day. Many maxima enthusiasts does this mod and i was thinking it would be a good mod for the non brembo coupes and sedans.

this is a bad idea. They use rotors smaller than even the nonbrembo 03 brakes. The brake bias will also be screwed up

The TwinTurbo 300ZX brakes are even inadequate for the car they were made for. Cheapest bet is OEM Brembo, G37/370Z akebono, or hodgepodge EVO/STI/CTS-V/Porsche setup...first two being the easiest choices obviously.

Are you talking about just using the calipers from a Z32, or the whole setup? The front rotors on a Z32 are 280mm (11"), which is smaller than a non-Brembo front brake (11.65"), though they are 6mm thicker than the non-Brembo setup. They are a full 1.76" smaller in diameter than the Brembo setup. As a previous Z32 owner, I always thought that car was underbraked, and the G isn't any lighter. I suppose it's possible to use just the caliper, but you'd have to look up the piston and pad sizing and compare with a 03-04 Brembo setup to see if the brake bias would be off significantly. This sounds like one of those custom mods that ends up costing more than the tried and true option. I'd second the advice above and go with a used Brembo setup made for the coupe.

Why use brakes from a car made close to 10 years ago?

No need to ice skate uphill

Actually 20 years ago...the Z32 was introduced in the spring of 1989!

LOL i guess i wont be doing this then. I was looking into bbk's mainly just for the look. Not planning on FI anytme soon and stock brakes are doing the job. I would have geen getting the 300zx brakes free and they look much nicer then the oem nn-brembo's
