My driver side rear wheel bearing is toast.
anyone have a walk-through of how to get it replaced?
i already know how to remove the brake caliper and rotor.
i need to know how to remove the old wheel hub and bearing and how to replace it with the new one.
one member here (waijai) showed the parts, hub, bearing and seal. it looks as though you press the new bearing on the new hub.
remove the old hub and bearing (4 bolts) and install the newly pressed one.
is it as easy as that??/
thanks in advance.

I removed the rear right axle, spun the wheel fast (continuously), and I could hear a little pinging/ticking/don't know how else to describe it. It started once I was spinning the wheel and got it almost in motion; it continued once I was spinning the wheel like the car was getting up to speed. Besides the brake pad scraping, would that other noise be normal?
I think I need to replace my rear wheel bearing!

how did you spin the rear wheel fast?
my car has the LSD so it took some effort to get the wheel moving (yes, i did not have my e-brake on). if your car has LSD, i do not think it should be spinning freely.

The axle was removed. I could not spin the driver's side wheel because the axle was installed. And check this thread out:

Not sure if that is normal?

Is it hard to replace the rear wheel bearings? I know I am going to have to get the bearing pressed. But is the installation easy after I have someone do that for me?

I'm in the process of doing this, I've removed the 4 bolts in the rear of the hub/bearing but cannot remove the hub/bearing from the car!
