For all those with the oem 12.6" front rotors 05+ G/Z and 06+ X. 2pc oem option

For those of you running the oem 12.6" front rotors..... how many of you would be interested in a set of 2 pc versions?

Size and weight info here:
https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...-z-brakes.html

From my informal research, the 12.6" 1 pc rotor weighs about 21.5" lbs.

From what I can guess so far, a 2pc version would be around 14lbs. Cost would be somewhere in the $430/set range. Not too bad. Racing Brake's 2pc for the OEM Brembos are like $600.

This is just for intial interest. If it comes to order, the guy would need 10 confirmed/paid orders before proceeding.

I didn't ask about the rears. Yes, it would be nice to match but the rears don't weight much so the cost/benefit wouldn't be that great.

Man, I would have thought saving over 6lbs per front wheel would be appealing along with having cool looking 2 pc rotors. Saving that much weight with a wheel/tire package costs thousands (but it's weight more on the outside of the rotating diameter).

Thanks for looking into this. It's interesting, but the last of my budget has to go into rear tires.

Do you have more information regarding the rotors, 2 piece yes but what type of mount, what type of air ventilation, what type of assembly, what type of material and surface coating. Also true cost for these as a package and price to replace the rotor ring when that time comes

Given the underwhelming support this thread has received, I doubt I'll persue it. He has made 2pc units for the 300z and for the maxima guys wanting to use 13" Ford Cobra spec rotors but with a Nissan stud size.

Most of the aftermarket rotors (non brembo, non oems) are about 18 to 19 pounds, but might give a little better braking performance. I found some places that sell cross drilled/slotted or slotted rotors for about 350ish with pads and rotors per axle. That might be why there isnt as much interest, unless ppl are insisting on keeping it looking like stock, but I dont see that happening much.

After prodding RacingBrake, they are now offering 2pc rotors for the oem 12.6" 05+ G/z users. Or the 06+ G35X users.

Jeff, considering this fits many applications other than the G and 350z, we are requesting some product feedback from other forum members here.

If other members want to post their thoughts on a two piece rotor, they can do so here:
https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...ck-needed.html
Thanks!
