Coilover install

Ok so I bought some H&R coilovers last week from a vendor for a good price. They should be arriving today and I want to install them myself.

Before I go any further does anyone have experience or feeback on these. I was told they were like tein basics except better(mono-tube design) also when comparing the images to these of other similarly priced coils the H&R look a though there missing something. Do you guys suggest any better coils for around 700-800. I'm looking to get the best bang for my buck and was even considering a cup kit instead. Any thoughts are welcome.

Will I need to purchase anything else besides an aligment? Any special tools needed besides a set of wrenches a toque wrench and a floor Jack? Thanks in advance guys. You'll probably tell me to search but I even used google and all I got was a complicated process for a evo 8.

Get some bc coilovers the are about 1000 bucks lots of people use them. I did not need any special tools for my suspension.

What's popular doesn't mean it's worth owning to those that know what separates one suspension product from another. So often, it's based on price. Your KW variant 3's (listed in your sig) and the H&R both benefit from German engineering in materials and valving, rarely do Japanese and especially Taiwanese dampers compare on the dyno.

I have been in cars with BC's and they ride great. Granted i have never been in a car with H&R's but i'm sure they are good as well. I was just providing another way to go for the OP's budget.

Your comparing a bunch of $700-$800 ebay products that can't cut it in the market so their last resort is ebay. What you don't get with the H&R coilovers, is the same thing you don't get with Basics, Bilstein Pss, Pss9, Kw, Eibach and Truechoice Phases 1 thru 4, upper mounts. You have to reuse the oem upper shock mounts.

2. In the strongest terms possible, NO!!!

3. Cup Kit? Only thing I can think of that can be defined as that, but never actually named that would be the D-spec shock and spring kit or the S-tune suspension. Best bang for the buck is the carefully researched kit that actually deliver's based on what you want's and needs are at the lowest price.

^^^ As I have posted before, to anyone bringing up Megan Racing coilovers, do not purchase them.

I refused to pawn them off on another owner until I purchased softer front springs and tested them. They now belong to another owner who is happy with the softer front spring setup. BcRacing makes them, and yet BcRacing claims they are awfull only because Megan specs them that way, so it has nothing to do with materials and any lack of talent on their part,...right.
