Tein Flex *Harsh like a Mofo*
Tein Flex *Harsh like a *****
Who here has installed this in their G35 coupe? Anyone experience harsh ride?
I installed mine two week's ago, and they feel like crap.
I think it might be that I did not installed the rubber mount that goes on top of the spring due because the rubber is at least 1.5 inches thick. Can the missing rubber be the reason why the suspension feel's so ****ty? What did you all do to fix this?
The answer might be shaved down the rubber and mount it but I want to see other ppl's opinion
Has anyone experience their rear shock popping out? Story is I took the car to get align and told the guy to drop the car more well then the idiot put the shock to the lowest setting and when I went thru a big bump the shock pop out, he was trying to blame it on me he said it's because I did not mount the lugnut that hold the shock on top of the tower, as far as I know only two lug's hold the shock in and that's in the inner fender, right?
Thank's

I made a thread here that was turned into a "sticky" so everyone can make better decision's and hopefully avoid costly mistakes. I've had the following info on the Flex in that thread since August 2005.
Tein Flex (twin tube construction, adjustable dampners
Full-length adjustment and height adjustment for separate setting of the height and spring preload
Spring rates 672/672
Side Note: High spring rates mean even when the adjustable damping is set as low as possible, you may not find ride quality happiness, several reports of this setups harshness exist Yet a few owner comment’s of a “like stock ride quality” also exist. However given the fact that they use a spring stiffness that’s over 100% stiffer then oem, if ride quality is of concern, either hitch a ride in a car equipped with them or make a different choice. In addition, several review’s have been done by people actually having the original more softly sprung Tein Flex coilovers do not take their comments to mean the same as the one using the current product, the original product specs are listed below under Tein Flex JDM.
If you look in the install manuel that comes with the coilovers, it clearly show's that you reuse the rear oem upper shock mount. You can cut the mount down and install it, takes about .8" off if you really work on the shaving part.
The rear shock popped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it did because the alignment guy made it longer? When you say it "popped" out, please explain in detail what that means, draw a picture if you know what I mean.

The rear shock came off from the top holding bracket (the bracket that has two screws holding it). What happen is that I told the guy to drop the spring's as low as it can and while doing that he set the shock to the lowest level too and when I went thru a bump the shock came out from the top, I'm guessing he put the shock to low. *I will post picture's after work to better clarify it, because I do not have the car with me today.
