Thumbs up custom Underbody bracing

here is my attempt to stiffen the G's chassis

its all chrome moly, and its bolted to the stock rear brace. I have felt a big difference in the car, and it feels completely tied together. ill be taking it all off to paint it to prevent it from rusting (more).

let me know what you guys think.
thanks!

Looks like you saved a bit going the custom route.

Here is a pic of the GTSPEC 4 Point Mid Chassis Reinforcement Brace:

yeah it was only 100 bucks for twenty feet of the metal.. and i did own that GTSPEC 4pnt. ($400est. = its a bit much ). only for measurements, so i could build my own.

plus the idea behind my system was to stay as close to the chassis as possible, im not lowered yet and the GTSPEC comes down not a lot, but enough to scrape up or possibly catch on something.

dang.. sorry to see that. what did you hit to do that?

i did think about taking mine off completely BUT....
i figured it was already engineered to work perfectly with the car. its double sided stamped steel so i just added to it. but if you were to replace it its gotta be some strong stuff.

where did u bolt it through on the outer corners of the triangle? were those holes aready there? I may look into this. Chromoly is a good choice if the piece ever gets hit underneath, it will bend. DOM steel is just at rigid but tends to crack when bent. Hmm there is a metal place down by me. Could you tell us the dimensions used for each piece?

I would keep yours on. I am thinking of just fabricating another one but thinner to accommodate my drop.

It was a railroad crossing.... I'm almost positive I would of scraped on my OEM height as well.
