Red face Spring Shock Combo advice.

Hey guys, I've got an 03 coupe on 18s. My front shocks are blown and I'm looking for a spring shock combo that will lower my car an inch all around. I'm thinking I want linear springs because I drive my car pretty hard. Please keep in mind that I don't intend to track my car at all, this is my daily driver. I don't want to be too stiff and be bouncy, but I obviously wouldn't mind being stiffer than stock. Adjustment options aren't necessary, but I wouldn't mind them. I just figure I would set them and not touch them again. I'm looking for a combo that would put me around $800, I definitely don't want to spend $1000.

I've heard Koni shocks are legit, but I've been seeing them for $600 for all four and I still have no clue what kind of springs I want. I've also been seeing how some people use 350z springs for a stiffer/lower ride, I'm wondering if they sit lower because of the extra weight of the G and if that would cause a problem or improvement as far as handling characteristics. I guess I'm looking for springs that are stiff but don't lower much more than 1 inch, and some shocks that will keep it comfy and improve on handling. I've been doing my own research but I feel like I need some help sifting through all the info out there. So advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If you intend to spend 800, why not look into a set of coils.

If you have a sedan.. look into 350z shocks and springs.. it will give you a slight drop with a stock feel.

I'd get set of coils or Tokico HP blue w/ some aftermarket springs of your choice.

Thanks for the replies...

It was my understanding that the most basic set of coils is the Tein Basics and they go for $1000. Is this incorrect? I'm not interested in a used setup. Keep the info coming guys!

Thanks man! That link was really helpful. After looking through it I've decided on getting Bilstein HDs.

I'm torn between two shocks though, RS*R 350Z linears: f345/r417
and Espelir 350Z progressives: Final f386/r515.
My stock spring rate is 314/342.

Here are my concerns:
RS*Rs: The rear rate is less than that of a 05/06 G35 with 19s (which is 427lbs/in). Kinda makes me feel like the RS*Rs could be a little stiffer. I really do enjoy a spirited drive.

Espelirs: I'm not too sure about progressive springs. I feel like if I'm almost always hitting the on and off ramps to the freeways here in San Diego hard, that progressive might not be the way to go. I like my stock linears just fine. But then I look to see that the final rates are 386/515 and that sounds pretty legit. The only problem is that that might be too stiff for me and the Bilstein shocks.

Overall I'm leaning towards the RS*Rs. It seems the most legit. The Espelirs sound good on paper but I think they might be too good to be true.
