driver side tire, it sounds like a tire majorly out of balance and its loud! I can feel the vibrations from the tire in the steering wheel.( you know that woom woom woom sound?? lol ) , BUT i got them balanced. Now another problem I have that seems to be connected to tire sound, my car is pulling to the left!! I sometimes have to turn the wheel slightly to the right to keep the car tracking straight.
I have the same symptoms and my guess is a bad wheel bearing and bad sway bar endlinks, check your tire pressure aswell just to make sure everything is in spec.

I had issues with my strut mounts doing a "metal on metal" clunking sound. The strut mounts looked normal but they were toast. I honestly couldn't see anything wrong visually, but swapping them made a world of a difference. They are like $20 if i remember right.

Can you clarify which part your referring to? "Strut mount" is that the top or lower part? I just changed to coilovers and I'm still getting the noise. My car is probably something else.

I know for sure it's not wheel bearing, did a check on that. Plus that will have more of grinding noise, my rear one went bad earlier this year. The tire pressure is in check, always checking that.

The more I think about it the more I'm stumped. I think i may just have to take it to Infinity or some suspension shop. It's just really annoying me and driving me nuts! I cant really drive the G like it supposed to be, or capable of..it just doesn't drive correctly.

This sucks....

I've got a nail in one of my rear tires, so I'm getting ready to get four new tires, so that'll tell me if that sound is the tires. But the popping sound is something else.

I'm curious, what made you change the compression rods the first time around? After what I've been reading, it sounds like compression rods. But since you changed your once already, I thought I'd ask.

Anyone else have more feedback for us?
I had this same problem, turned out it was my driver side inner bushing that connects to the cross-member. Replaced the bushing thru Z1-performance, this is better then having to buy a whole new control arm. Anyways here is a thread that someone has already started, shows you what to look for and how to replaces.
