2-Piece Rotors for Akebono's? Maybe?...

Thanks Ernie (flyinglumpia) for the heads-up on these... I almost forgot about it ~

I'm not sure who makes them... has anyone tried 'em? Or wants to?... I don't want to be guinea pig this time

there's only one other option and that's RB... they aren't much cheaper and I don't think they have even released theirs yet...

Since its very, very limited availability - price is gonna be high.

Wow. Those are expensive.. the pre-order pricing on the RB was like $600.. granted they're still not out yet.. but the RBs look better also.

the concern I have about RB is that at a relatively recent event at TechnoSquare, a RB rep said if they can't make front & rear, they wont release at all... and so far no one has been able to make rear...

I realize the RB rep for GB was adamant about these coming out - however, that's totally different from what they told me twice over the phone and once in person...

So literally right now, the ones linked are the only ones available (unless they are pre-order too? But it doesn't mention that)...

What a crock of crap.
There isn't even a spec on them.

..I'm waiting for Stoptech Aeros or the RBs.

I wouldn't put much stock in that
That wasn't true for my ///M RB rotors.
The RB CZP-Competition Package 2pc rotors are front only.
AND the OE are 2pc front & rear, so the rears aren't a mfg problem.

CZP doesn't have 2-piece for the Akebonos... and OE are definitely not 2-piece...

In fact NO ONE has 2-piece out yet (other than link posted).

And no one has shown any progress at all in the rears...

CORRECTION! StopTech rep is the one that said if they can't make rears, they wont release any at all...

Racing Brake is the one that has front only (in production supposedly) - not sure what their delay is...

I was referring to my OE ///M rotors
& RB making front only rotors available
like the RB (CZP - Competition Package) fronts that I had on my BMW.
http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/ve...n%20Package%29

I'm saying that RB will make a front only rotor.

:edit, I see your correction:

.....too bad if that's true about Stoptech not doing front Aeros

^^^ this isnt news... but the RB isnt released yet.

The point of the ones I linked is that they are the only ones you can actually put on your car right now.

When I first read it, I thought you were saying RB wasn't gonna come out with the 2pc afterall. I was like

From their last communication, looks like mid-late Feb before it releases.

That's what he did say,
but later corrected it.

...I'm still waiting until there are a couple of choices out there.
I'll run the Stoptechs 'till then.
