Depends on the definition of "better". The brembos aren't really better for a one time 60-0 but they are probably more capable on the track(heat cap) and probably have better feel(more pistons = better pedal feel).

oh, i know the Brembo's won't stop any shorter. i do take my car up into the canyons about once a month, so less fade and better feel are a priority for me. plus the Brembo's have a lot more aftermarket support than 05+ & Akebono's, rotor & pad upgrades, ect. most legit BBK's won't stop you shorter than stock, just perform a lot better under stress(keep stopping you). plus the bling factor never hurts. i just really didn't like what that dumb @$$ said.

Got it. I'd rock a set of gold brembos on 2pc Racing brake rotors any day of the week. For me that's my dream setup.

Any of you 05ers+ ever driven a Brembo car? If you have, you would not even be having this debate.
I can tell you that when I drove my friend's new 05 the brakes felt like slop compared to the Brembos. Lots of pedal travel, non-linear feel. The Brembos are so linear and smooth throug5 hout the entire push, heads and toes above any basic stock set up.
And, the whole "less brake dust, less rotor warping" is crazy. Whose Brembo rotors ever warped? Yes, they wear out fast and the pads are dusty, but that is because they are soft to stop better You gotta pay to play. Long life, stops good, cheap--pick any two!
Did you ever see one ot the original G35 reviews where a Brembo equipped G35 stopped in a shorter distance than a Porsche 911 Turbo per Edmunds. I guess 05 brakes are better than those too.
60-0 stopping is a terrible comparison of brakes because this takes into account also tires, etc. Even if true, if you state this as a reason that the 05brakes are better than the Brembos (laugh), then you must also think they are better than the 10k carbon ceramic brakes out there that almost always have worse 60-0 than the standard set ups.
For no other reason than pedal feel alone, this is a futile argument. The brakes on the 05+ are cheap, basic units that allowed Infiniti to funnel money away to redoing the interior.

He's not comparing it to brembo. read the thread again. he mentions "do the 2 piston stop better". He wouldn't be saying that if he already had the 5 piston brembos

I upgraded from my stock 03 non-brembo brakes to 05+ brakes and the difference was huge to me. I could lock up the wheels with both systems obviously but the grip before lockup on the 05+ is FAR superior and easier to modulate. The 05+ do have awkward pedal travel though, it's non linear and sometimes I brake more than I want to so it gets some getting used to.
Either way, considering that the whole upgrade cost me $150 for 4 used calipers with oem pads and $190 for 4 NEW discs, I'd give it a 5 out of 5 and would do it again in a heartbeat.

how so?Originally Posted by randy021186
i wanted the g37 but they throw the brake bias off
I have 'em and braking has been very good... I haven't tracked with them yet - but I have done some hard avoidance maneuvering and braking and they are better than the stock setup...
The OEM heavy @ss rotors arent pleasant though

He's either talking about fronts only or doesn't know what he's talking about

probably i don't, didn't do enough research yet. so you saying there is no bad brake bias with the g37 setup? ...Originally Posted by Jeff92se

Do some research. Only thing even on par is stopping distance. Originally Posted by DetroitG35

highly doubt it since it was designed specifically for Nissan/Infiniti Applications. brake bias is an issue addressed by car manufacturer's and "good" aftermarket brake manufacturers.Originally Posted by randy021186
