Used KW Variant 3 coilovers or...

I just wanted to know what peoples opinion on either getting used KW variant 3 coilovers with less then 10000 KM (not miles) for 1100$ canadian or buying new coils such as BC racing, megan or stance?

Just to remind you everything in canada cost more then it does in the US.

I was in a similar situation except it was between used HKS Hipermax IIIs and new BC Racing coilovers.

KW V3 coilovers are what I would buy if I had unlimited budget or planned to track my car.

But on the other hand if this is going on a daily driver that won't ever see a track or aggressive driving, all that adjustability is kind of a waste. You won't ever use more than a fraction of what the coilover is capable of, and what you paid for. In this case I'd pick up a new set of BC Racing coilovers.

As far as suspension components go, you never know how the previous owner drove so it's better to err on the side of caution and buy new and have the peace of mind that they aren't going to blow or leak on you anytime soon.

So, make your choice depending on how you plan to drive your car.

I agree with tragedycat. If you plan to track the car, go with the KWV3. For that price, it is a great deal with only 10K. If you want something more comfy, go find something else like HKS, Tein, Bilstein, H&R offerring.

You don't need something very stiff to run coupe offsets.

"Stiffer" might not be the answer to your needs. Is it a daily driver or a track car? How are the roads in Toronto? I imagine potholes and broken pavement everywhere so you need to consider this. Running these coils in these conditions will not be comfortable.

Trust me, I have them. I am now looking to change the springs to softer ones.

If you are getting The KW 3's just because they are stiff and you wanna run coupe offsets You are in for a treat. You can run Coupe offset with other coilovers. These coilovers are made for people who drive Aggressive and track there cars, not for Daily driver VIP cars. For what you are looking to do these are WAY TOO MUCH for you and your daily driven car. NO Offense to you.

Why the attitude? People are trying to help you and you're giving us absolutely no information except "I wanna slam my car and need a stiff setup". So we have to make some assumptions to help you out. It seems like you are a pretty set on getting KW V3's, so go for it.

The ride can be bone jarring hitting expansion joints and all minor road undulations are translated into the cabin. My passengers are bouncing inside and don't like the experience at all. Currently, I am set up per factory settings. I am now waiting for KW to
give me some advice on making it more compliant to my liking.

Is it really that bad? How much mileage you put on them already?

Don't get me wrong, I love the KW's! They were actually perfect at first. Right, after I installed them, I went for a quick test drive and I thought I hit "jackpot" with the settings.
Soon after they settled, it was a different story. They felt stiff and closer to my stock sport while only better on the corners being flat when taking tight turns. I have Ohlins on my sportbike and I just wished I could get the same performance from these coils.
Seller told me they are fine as a daily driver so I went with them.

For me, it has too much spring rate so the car feels unforgiving. I want some comfort for long drives so I need something softer. I have only driven it 2,000kms or less even.

I plan to change the springs (if I can), upgrade my sway bars to get back the flat cornering ability but at the same time, get the comfort I am looking for.

you're wasting your money getting KW v3 just to fit wheels.

you want something stiff for that purpose thats cost effective, just get megan track coils.
