Another Akebono kit spray painted!! pics
Hi there fellas I just painted my set of Akebono Brakes. I chose red cause my rims are medium gray so both the rims and calipers silver just wont cut it for me. So here we go I will let them cure for 2 days and then spray the logo with stencils (thinking white LOGO?) and then apply clear to the calipers. Let me know your feedback guys. I used duplicolor high temperature engine paint. Color chrysler red.

PAint was duplicolor high heat engine enamel with ceramic. Color chrysler red
Process:
1-Remove the bleeder bolts and cover the inside of the hole with some paper
2-Wet Sanded the clear off the calipers (took about 10mins each caliper)
3-washed with water and dried with a microfiber cloth rest at sunlight for about 10 mins
4-Cover with tape the pistons and seals
5-Pre warmed the calipers with a blower (I live in Puerto RIco so there's a high % of humidity)
6-Applied 3 coats of paint at 10min intervals
7- 1 can of beer some pics, photobucket, G35driver ... you know the rest

Looks good. So, are you using High Heat, or Engine Enamel? If it's the former, you'll need 5 days cure time, the clear 7 days.
Here's mine using the same process.
