Exclamation Brakes for the last time!!!!

What Pads and rotors should i purchase for a 04 g35 coupe. I did my searches, and what i can conclude from them is that people are trying to stay away from slotted and or drilled rotors (STOPTECH STAGE 2 KIT). Since i have looked thru many posts regarding brakes i realized that none of them would answer basic question...WHAT IS THE MOST OPTIMAL PAD/ROTOR COMBINATION FOR STREET USE (price resonable).

Thank You.
Mark.

First, slotted are fine, they don't compromise the structural integrity of the rotor.

As far as pad choice, it's as subjective as color of your car. I know that the 03'-04' pads were dusty, 05's were not, but I like OEM for most street use. They have great stopping power when cold and wet, but fade a bit when pushed on the twisties. After five Raging Bull runs under my belt, the ONLY brake problem I have seen is NOT flushing the system before hand. You get water in the fluid, the brakes get hot and it starts to make steam. You can't stop with steam in your calipers.

I have tried EBC "Green Stuff" (worked great, eat rotors like candy) and Hawk HPS, (work great when they are warm, but scare the crap out of you when it's cold and wet) and I'm going back to OEM pads next time.

For street use, the rotors don't really matter unless your going for looks

^Sounds like racing pads, which you definitely don't want on a daily driver. I'm not sure which pads in between oem and racing are good.

The "Green Stuff" are supposed to be a "better" street pad. They have "Yellow Stuff" which is street and track and "Red Stuff" which is "track only. Hawk HPS is the same as the "green stuff".

I'm surprised street pads would eat up rotors like that.

I was too. I had the stock pads in for almost a year and the rotors were as smooth as glass. I put the EBC pads in and in less than three months, the rotors had groove in them.

I had the EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with ebc pads (can't remeber the color) I hated them, way to noisy sound like someone going down a sky slope. Changed out to the DBA 4000 rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I do alot of highway driving and pads warm up pretty quickly. I would by this set up again.

Well i just picked up OEM rottors plus set of Hawk HPS pads. But now i found out thta my left rear caliper is seezed . When changing the brakes i have noticed that when pushing back the left rear caliper piston, i had to use much more force on a c calmp than on any other wheel. After the install was done i took the car for a ride stoped on the lights and saw smoke comming out from the same wheel. I figured what the hell it has to be some left over stuff on the pad/disc. But after getting back home iv noticed thta the caliper is stuck (very hot rottor 300F plus). Wtf. New caliper 250$, buy or try to fix it?

Just buy a rebuild kit, you should be able to get it at most auto parts stores. You will need to clean it very well and use the proper grease during assembly.

You poor bastards that live in "salt road" country...

Just ordered Power Slot Cryogenically treated rotors and Satisfied GS6 pads from Tire Rack. Ill give a review of this setup as I think there arent enough rotor/pad reviews on here. I read some bad reviews on the DBA rotors. They have issues with warping and wobbling after 5k. There were complaints that they werent heavy duty enough. Ive had Power Slot before so I was comfortable with those and this will be the first time I try these GS6 pads. Supposedly have alot of bite, little noise and little brake dust.
