Daily Driven lowering spring question?
#16
I have the H-techs and I did that spring mount mod thing too. Drop came out nice and the ride is WAY better than the coilovers I used to have. Tire wear, well I got about 30,000 out of some Toyo Proxes and I have about 15K on my S-Drives now...so tire wear isnt the worst.

Thanks! What was the total drop with and without spring mount mod? Do you have a pic of the car? What size wheels are you running? Could you get the car in spec without camber kits or mods! Thanks so much for your help this is hard to find! Josh

Ok I found my answer! Tony from riverside is so helpful. Im not going with any 350z style spring! He was right when you think about it that the 350z is lighter than the g35 so the 350z springs may not handle as well as the springs for the g35! He told me to go with the NF210 springs with F 1" an R .6 and spring mount mod if i want to do that! He said the ride of the NF210 are better than the stiffer PRO kit! He told me softer lowering springs in some way really dont mean the ride will be softer! Just lowering the car will change how the car handle's so why go stiffer on a daily driver! You get the look and the ride quality. Just because the NF210 are softer the coils are tighter closer together and thicker. Its softer to keep the ride but its not really softer if you get what hes saying! So to keep the ride / look and handling he said NF210.
Now about toe and camber kits on lowering springs! He said about 3/4" should get you in spec without having to buy anything! Even at an 1" if it was still a little off why by a camber kits! He was like depending on how you drive your car IF it wore the tires 3000 miles fast and you needed $600 worth of camber its to fix it would it be worth it to buy the parts when the stock camber wears the tires anyways? He said even if you put it to spec are cars ware tires anyways you would be spending $600 to save 3000 miles! Thats a set or half a set of new tires! So how much is the 3000 miles worth + install $$ for the parts when tires are going to still wear!
80% on the boards would always say you need a camber kit to put it in spec maybe true. Now I could see after talking to Tony that maybe if you pushed it past an inch it would pay to have the camber kit! But with just a light drop you dont really have to have it as bad as if you did a 1.7" drop!
Thanks Tony its took 2 days of searching to not even get half the answers you gave me in 20 min! A+ for Tony at River Side Infiniti

Just in case your interested
I have G35 S-Techs that I bought on this board quite a while ago and never got around to installing because my car was leased and I only had about a year left and decided not to spend all the money on camber kits.
I will sell them for $165 if your interested
PM me... I have not posted for sale yet because I've been to lazy to take pictures...

My buddy has an 06 coupe on 20" wheels and he got the pro kit! So where going to install the kits and drive for a few weeks then get an alignement and see who gets in spec or who gets close to spec!
His drop on pro's is post to be 1.1 an 1
NF210 drop post to be 1 an .6

If you want around a 1.1F and 1.R drop my boy just did the pro kit install and the drop looks even! What i thought was nice is the car handles better but the ride is softer than his factory 06 sport suspension! Has a nice ride! He is running 20" with 30 series tires. theres like maybe a finger gap it's tight all the way around!
The 1 thing we found out is when you drop the car on factory struts with springs is the pass rear sits higher. You dont see it as much on my buddies car do to is so close to the tire! We checked and both mine and his is about 1/4 or so higher on the pass rear. We checked both cars to make sure the spring and mounts where sitting right and they are! So im doing the rear spring mount mod to level it out!
