no dust please

Im looking to replace my rotors and brake pads on my 2005 sedan. The main thing i am looking for is ones that will produce the LEAST amount of brake dust...is there a specific brand of rotor and brake pads that is known for very little brake dust.. Thanks.

You AWD? Because the upgraded oem pads really don't dust at all. And I would never give up brake dist performance for how little the dust reduction would be.

If you are AWD, then yeah, I can understand the request but you still have to give up brake performance in order to get less dust.

This ^^ makes no sense. You have big azz heavy chrome wheels and you are willing to sacrifice performance?? That doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Are you sure your car has OEM pads, Jeff is right. 05 OEM pads have good stopping power and very little dust. You might have some cheap Pep Boys type pads that were replacements somewhere down the line.

Just hose down the wheels, solves the brake dust problem.

Then you should go for metallic based pads. Organic pads are the most dusty, but are the quietest; not much brake squealing.

So like everything else in life.. it's give and take. Depends which is more important to you.... dust or noise.

Go with Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads. Very little brake dust. Good pads but they need to be warm before you get on them. If they are cold they suck. After a few stops you are good to go.

Perhaps old organic compounds used to be dusty.

Not the newer compounds which use Kevlar and Aramids, along with Copper.

The Centric Posi-Quiet Extended Wears fitted onto Centric Rotors give off only a very opaque dust which is barely noticeable and wipes off easy.
