Another "Identify this noise" thread.. sorry

So I have this inconsistent screeching/squealing noise coming from my rear passenger side wheel and it stops when I apply the brakes.

This started yesterday after I put my new wheels on..

What could this be? It's annoying as hell

probably your brake pad sensors. but you might want to see if your wheel hub bearing is starting to go bad.

How many miles on the car?

I'd change the brake pads first to see if it goes away.

But if its the hub bearing, your still covered under the powertrain warranty which is 6yr 70k if I recall correctly

I'm assuming if I take it to a shop they'd be able to tell me what it is?

I don't understand a whole lot about brake systems..

I just don't get why when I apply the break it goes away.. and the noise isn't consistent.

take it to a brake shop that has free inspections.

as for the inconsitency...brake pads 'float' in the caliper so sometimes it will be close enough to the rotor for the sensor to touch.

And I believe the friction from the pad being pressed against the rotor while you brake dampens the sound from the sensor....I think.

But usually as soon as I start hearing noises, I inspect the pads and rotors so I dont die
