keep stock or koni?

Hey guys, i traded my 03 g35 coupe for a 07 g35 coupe with sport pack and i bought the tanabe gf210 350z springs, do you guys think i should upgrade the suspension to koni or keep the stock struts. The thing is that, i don't drive everyday and i probably go to the track once or twice a year. You guys think i should put koni or keep stock struts?

Keep stock struts until you start feeling that car is "loose" and "skips" in bumpy corners. Then it is a time to replace. Why not squeeze every mile out of stock hardware, which is otherwise good?

+1. the stock struts will start to leak after about a year. Might as well use the time to save for the Konis.

How about the Tokico D-specs? Adjustable as well, cheaper than konis, and really good. I've had them on now a week and really really like them, even on '04 OEM springs. Nice compliance over bumps but flat flat flat.

I have D-specs for about 4 years now, if not longer. Maybe 70K km...no leaks. Probably better value than Koni, if you are not that serious into racing.

koni yellows feel much better than stock. Feel more planted not like the car is getting beat up by the road.

So you bought springs that are softer than the OEM sport suspension in the rear?

I would personally use the time till they blow to save your money and purchase some coils rather than spend the money on just struts.

Depends on what about the coilovers? You can pick up some really nice used coilovers or get new bc's/f&f or megans or tanabes for not too much over the price of struts. Given how long it will most likely take for his struts to blow it gives him plenty of time to save up, why not do that and get the adjust-ability of a coilover setup of dampening and height rather than just buying new struts? Not to mention the fact that coilover strut and spring combination were generally designed to work together rather than just pairing some spring and some strut.
