Are bouncy/blown shocks covered under warranty?

So my car has 60k miles on it and I purchased an extended warranty until 2011 or 2012 (I forget exactly) and I'm wondering if I bring my car in completely stock if they will replace the shocks because they are really bouncy and feel blown.

Any opinions or experience would be appreciated

I asked this same question a week back. The service manager told me that shocks are not covered by warranty and extended warranty. They are a wear and tear item.

60k is plenty of mileage on a shock, so it's not like you're looking at a premature failure. If it happened in the first 10-20k or so of ownership, I'm sure most dealers would replace a blown shock, but since you're beyond the reasonable wear expectation, I doubt they'll cover it. Never hurts to ask, though.

No, it's a wear and tear item.
