Loose Parking Brake (or is this normal?)

On a 2006 MT...how effective is the parking brake when properly adjusted? I just got the car a little while ago, and notice a good amount of roll when the parking brake is applied on a hill. Also, the parking brake does not lock the wheels up when "yanked on" while driving. I haven't done this at 60mph or anything, but in my old car, a good tug on the handle would instantly lock the wheels up.

Are the symptoms I'm describing indicative of a parking brake system that needs adjustment, or are these conditions normal for the G35?

Thanx!

I was experiencing the same thing with my 6MT. But when I got my rear pads replaced a couple of weeks ago, I noticed the parking brake was significantly tighter. I should say that when I got my car serviced, they could have done something else to tighten the hand brake. But I’m pretty sure your rear pads need replacing soon.

Thanks. I will be doing the DIY soon. I actually just had my rear pads replaced. I should have thought to tell them to tighten the p-brake while they were at it. Oh well.
