Suspension Clunking, Not Compression Bushings, Not Sway end links.??????

So i recently had my suspension done about 1000mi ago and it has been driving like a dream..i got HKS Hypermax III coils, SPL front and rear camber arms and spc toe bolts.. i had it aligned and cornerbalanced at West End in Gardena and i swear.. the car never ever drove so well...

it started clunking intermittently about a week in a half ago and it does it almost everytime i step on the brakes now..

i took it to a friend and he said it's probably swaybar endlinkz..

i took it to a local mechanic that works on my parents cars, he knew a lil about g35's and he even knew about the oc issue our cars have.. he put it on the lift and he seems to think it was either a loose caliper or something to do with the sway bar... he said my car was too modified for him and he didn't want to touch it.. haha..

so. i took it to Riverside Infiniti this morning and they checked everything to find out that the front shock absorber is tapping the compression rod everytime i brake.. they said that they checked all bolts and torqued it all to specs, some were not as tight as suppose to b,, and the noise still exists. they suggested to go back to stock and call it a day.. NOT..

they also said that there is no immediate danger in driving it the way it is, so.. i drove it home.. i made an appointment at West End Alignment, since Darren is a suspension guru, and we will c what is up next week..

Anyone ever had this problem...?? solution..??

thankx..

interested to hear what he says..

i have a similar set up... hks hipermax III sport with cusco front arms and spc rear camber arms. i notice minor "creaking" noises occasionally while driving especially at lower speeds while turned or going over uneven roads into driveways.. etc..

one thing that came it mind is the rear spring mounts. i had to completely remove the rubber bump stops on the spring perch and used the metal ones that came with the HKS coils... did you remove your rubber pieces also?

i've pretty much just accepted the fact that with a very stiff high performance suspension puts a lot more stress on the frame and body. but the handling and ride quality makes it worth it

yeah.. i removed the rubber bump stops... Riverside Infiniti identified the problem and said it was the front shock hitting the compression rod.. i wanna c what can be done to remedy this..

Alf

oh yea.. as long as nothing breaks.. the handling is totally worth it..

just got back from West End Alignment.. It took Darren 15min to find out that there were 2 loose nuts on the SPL front camber arms. Tightened em up and it's all good.. Man.. It could have been so much worse..!!!

Sammyg.. If you have ANY suspension problems or solutions you need.. I wouldn't hesitate. I had my alignment and cornerbalance performed by Darren at West End Alignment, although it was a little on the pricey side, you really get what u pay for.. Personal customer service. He will set u up. With the price of tires nowadays, it pays for itself. He only charged me $20 to fix my car yesterday.!!!!
