Worn out suspension replaced w 350z suspension
My steering wheel was bouncing all over the place so I decided to have the front wheels rebalanced. No change in bounce after the re-balance. So I took it back to NTB and asked, WTF? The advisor looked at the front tires, Michelin Pilot A/S+, and noticed they were cupped, indicating the front struts needed replacing. So I took the opportunity to replace my Sedan Sport suspension with a revised 350Z suspension. The drop is fantastic! Pics attached:

^ Lets see, after the 350z setup i went with Tein H-techs, they were comfortable but the drop wasn't what i looked for, after that i went with BC racing coils i had them on for few months and got rid of them because the softest setting were still stiff and i got tired of it. Now i have the best springs i have ever owned Sedan H&R's with Stock shocks and i love them.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

I'm running the revised Z shocks and struts on S Techs on my 05 sedan and really like the whole package. Ride and handling are are solid and the car looks great!
Tire cupping is not a indicaton of shock perforance or shock wear. It is a sign of incorrect alignment setttings. Add high caster and directional tires to the mix and that doesn't help much.

A revised oem Z suspension is a cost effective way to get a 1" drop on a sedan and better control. D-specs set to 3 or 4 above full soft will offer simular control, but better ride quality because of better valving.
And always ALWAYS avoid unrevised oem 350Z shocks at ALL costs, otherwise bounce and freeway porposing with be very much a part of everday life.

Regardless, the 350z suspension is superior to the old sedan sport suspension in terms of performance. I drove from Houston to Austin last weekend and took the twisty road 1489 from Simonton to Brookshire. Wow, what a blast! She held the road like a race car. Then from Austin I drove 290 out to Dripping Springs and took 12 down to Wimberly, then on to San Antonio. Another great twisty drive. I enjoy the 350z suspension very much and the 1 inch drop is an added plus. I am very happy indeed!
They were bad for the Z and suffer from the same issues on the sedan, read on.
My very first suspension mod was a 2003 oem 350Z shock and spring setup (unrevised). Turn in was fantastic, brake dive and squat were much better. Ride quality was awfull. I should have paid attention to the Z owners that were complaining about bounce and freeway porposing. My car had the problem big time. IIRC I went with Koni's after that.
Nissan revised the shocks for very valid reason's. Koni also did their valving differently, likewise for very valid reasons. With revised shocks consistently showing up for resale and with the avalibility of rather cheap Tokico HP shocks. It makes no sense what so ever to pay money to punish yourself.

2006 350Z Revised Suspension
Hello,
I recently purchased a 2006 350Z full revised setup here on the forums however, the front drivers side center post was stripped completely and I was unable to install the set. Does anyone know how to tell what model the setup I have came from? We read the numbers on the shock off to Nissan and Infiniti and they said I needed the VIN # off the 350Z but that is unattainable at this time. s there another way to tell? Maybe the color dots on the springs? The front springs have 1 pink dot and the rear springs have 1 purple and 2 red dots on them.
I need to find a drivers side front shock replacement to make a complete set. Any help is greatly appreciated.
