where do these brake pad shims go? (pic)

The silver parts, I mean. They came as part of the hardware kit I bought for the fronts from everythingg35.com. The pads came with the gray shim holder things too, so I don't need the ones from the kit. I think I may have wasted money on that kit. But I can't figure out if the cut out part goes toward the front of the car or the rear. I'm pretty sure they go next to the pistons. Somebody help me make sure I put these things on correctly!

You can reuse the OEM shims that came off your pads. I don't think it will matter if the cut out goes towards the front or the rear on your front pads. There is a shim post further down in the brakes and suspension section.

I reused the OEM shims from my pads when I replaced my rear pads.

Thanks, man. I saw an exploded view in the brake manual I downloaded and they cut out part is toward the rear. But yeah I was thinking it didn't matter much.

The ones in the manual are the old one... The ones that you got are the redesigned ones.
