NOT SURE what brake pads and rotors to go with?? :(

Exactly what the title says...

I noticed some grinding while driving a couple days ago...and well it couldn't have happened at a crappier time. I have a lot of traveling to do this coming weekend/next week and I'm in need of new pads and rotors on the front. (I had it looked at, at a mechanics shop) and of course parts and labor they wanted around $600.00....

So I searched autozone and advanced:

Autozone:

Duralast Gold/Brake Pads - Front - $34.99
Duralast/Brake Rotor - Front - $69.99 a piece: totaling $139.98

TOTAL: $174.97 minus taxes.

Advanced:

Wagner Brake Rotor Only - $108.99 a piece: totaling $217.98
Wagner Brake Pad Set - $58.99

TOTAL: $276.97 minus taxes.

I guess I'm curious seeing as I need this done ASAP! Are these fine to go with? Or should I look into something else? (Another brand, etc.)

I have an 2003 with vdc, 20 inch wheels and brembo brakes.

I'm also located around the Orlando, Florida area.

I hope to hear all of your advice.

Thanks everyone!

~ Johnny.

If you are in a pinch, just go with the Autozone duralast setup. It's the most cost effective and for daily driving is sufficient. For everyday typical consumer use, the duralast parts are pretty good and are a great bargain.

When it is time for a performance minded brake package, I too suggest the Stop-Tech Street Performance pads and Stop-Tech rotors (centric rotors are fractionally cheaper and are the same thing).

I got my centric rotors from rockauto.com and at the time they did not have stop-tech SP pads, but I think they do now because I noticed them available one day for my fiances car.

You can go to retailmeknot.com and get a 5% discount code off of rockauto purchases, read rockautos directions though at checkout because its not intuitive on where they want the discount code.
