Opinions: cheap ceramic pad/drilled rotor set for 2003 Sedan

My brakes are starting to squeal and make noise. I found this on ebay. Anyone have any experience with either brand? I primarily use my car for aggressive street driving, and I may autocross it at some point.

If you drive even moderately aggressively don't cheap out on brakes. Especially with the cross drilled rotors. You are asking for a major problem like cracked rotors if you do. Stick with quality parts like Centric rotors and a number of pads: Akebono, Posi Quiet, Hawk, etc. All of these can be found for great prices if you search around. Start getting price quotes from the vendors on this site. A lot of them will price match and it'll help you drive the price down. I got a full set of Hawk HPS pads (F/R) from a vendor here for less than $99 shipped to my door.

Thanks. I'm not sure about these, but I figured I'd see if anyone's ever tried them. I was also thinking of putting blanks on it with Hawk ceramic pads, since summit has the Hawk ceramics in-stock for under $80 (and I can pick them up at their main store). Is it a bad idea just to use auto-parts-store rotors?

This wasn't exactly a planned upgrade, I bought the car in June and the squeaking surfaced today...and my paycheck is budgeted towards other necessities.

I have bought this set up now for 5 different cars. All of them are issue free and over a year of use.

Purchased for
1997 Corvette
2001 Corvette
2004 Ram 1500 4x4
2004 G35
2002 Altima

All of them have drilled slotted rotors and the ceramic pads I have picked them up from both brake motive and I think brake labs depending on who had the better price.

The altima now belongs to my cousin and he has racked up about 50K miles on them so far.

The other vehicles have about 10K - 15K miles of use on them without issues and a great reduction on brake dust.

I've been running this exact kit since January with no issues.

The customer service is great, and the kit seems to brake better than OEM. The pads don't have quite the initial bite of the OEM pads, but the compound produces almost no brake dust.

Try them out!

7k miles later, I'm happy to report no problems, slightly better pedal feel, and very low brake dust. I'm very happy with the kit, and I'll update it as the miles rack up.
