yeah i will but since i have warranty i don't want to spend my money on fixing it, if i get in an accident cause of this ill sue infiniti cause i brought the car in with the problem they dismissed it as normal so now its just a waiting game...hopefully it wont come back, i hear the abs self test but i haven't been losing brake pressure so ill wait and see what happens next.

 

Def do watch those things OP, I would think it would be master cyl or brake booster. Air wouldnt be so intermitant

 

I have experienced a similar problem twice in the three years I've owned my 03. It's usually soon after starting the car. When I press on the brake, usually while moving slowly, I get a flatulent-like sound (FROM THE BRAKES, not from me) that has the same overall tone as ABS clicking/cycling rapidly. (ever have a full-on slide in snow or ice, when there is lots of noise from ABS? same sound.) Like I said, this has happened twice. The rest of the time the brakes are solid. The last time this happened was earlier this week at a restaurant. I started the car, pulled out, and when I applied the brakes at the street entrance I got a mushy pedal, lots of mechanical noise, and little stopping power. I took my foot off the brake, reapplied, and all was fine!

 

Well the crazy mechanical "boing"/"flatulent"/whatever else you want to call it noise is normal. All three 35s I have been around and driven. Although I do not think it is normal for this to effect braking capacity. My car does it every time, I will try to time it to be on the brakes next time it happens and see if it effects brake firmness

 

its normal, it DOES affect brake firmness. It does not affect stopping power when it happens.

 

This is normal,the pedal just oscoillates onece or twice right? it's the ABS checking itself. This occurs every time I drive the car, or pretty much every time. I've talked to my service advisor about it, he refered me to the owners manual and even had the page number off the top of his head. (I never checked but I have on reason to doubt his statement). I've had the car for about 2 years now and this issue has never presented itself outside of immediately after starting the car and giving it the first firm brake.
