Brakes Awesome...Cool...My Brakes Work When They Want To...

Okay sooo...I pull out of my parking space, put the car in drive (yes its an auto) step on the gas a bit then on the brake to stop at a stop sign, my car went all "shhhgurggg" and i lost brake pressure...and ran the stop sign at about 2mph lol luckily it was a parking lot and 10 AM so not many people or cars were there or i would be a lot madder right now...
im taking my car into the dealership (still have warranty) at 4PM today to see what they can do about it...
anyone have any ideas what it could be? my brake fluid is fine & brake lines are fine, i have 80% left on my pads in the rear and 50% in the front i believe, all fluids are fine and idk what else i could check that has to do with brakes? my dad said thr might have been air in my brake lines but idk... anyone wanna help me out here?

It sounds like a bad seal. Check your reservoir and make sure its not pulling air through your lines.

I get this too sometimes. I think the ecu runs a diagnostic on the abs system when you first step on the brakes.

Hmmm...I'm going to tell them to check my seals cause air in the lines was my dads first guess & about the ecu I'll let them check for codes I'm sure if its the ecu they will be able to tell. My mom still thinks it's my fault and I broke it hahaha :P & my gf agrees with my mom.

If you have air, your brakes would work poorly most of the time/if not all the time

Sounds like the abs system is acting up. Could be a dirty abs sensor.

Take it to the dealer

Master cylinder. Blown diaphragm internally. Losing brake boost. Had it happen on my Accord. It would work most of the time and then I'd lose brake pressure. Then it got progressively worse. Have that MC looked at.

Yeah sorry for the late reply guys, i've been busy latly...i took it to the dealer they checked my lines said they were a little loose or somthing so some air could have gotten in but they said it's sorta normal....they also told me i only have 1mm left on my rear pads so i have to change those but my brakes have been okay latly so im guessing it was just a bad day for the car? idk but im glad its not doing that again...i'm going to have my mechanic change my brakes and see if he can find anything wrong cause the dealer doesnt always find it...like my rellay harness issue that took 5 visits for them to find...(jolt at 40mph that felt like someone had run into me everytime)

Well hopefully it doesnt come back. That could be a serious problem. Be careful out there till you are sure it is taken care of man. And that isn't normal no matter what they tell you..
