Recommendation for Smoothest Ride

Hi everyone,

I have a coilover setup in my car which I don't really need, don't need to raise the car. I believe a strut and lowering spring combination is a bit smoother than coilovers in general (I've noticed with others cars I've had)

I have Tein S-Techs in my car and the ride quality is horrible...it's a very nice setup for actual street performance but they lack terribly in the comfort category. I'm more about looks and comfort as opposed to performance...I don't race the car or do 200 on turns so I don't mind a bit of lacking in the category.

So I'm basically looking for recommendations on a setup which will give me the absolute best ride quality without all the bumpyness and I want to drop the car maybe an inch and a half? How much of a lowering spring would I have to get to drop the car so the top of the tire is pretty much flush with the fender or even a tad higher...I don't want to slam the car and tuck under the fenders. I have 20s on the car, 35 profile.

Would I get away with an eiback or h&r spring on the OEM shocks/struts?

Thanks all

if you're on tein s-techs (lowering springs) now then you're not on coilovers.

of the reasonably priced coilovers available for our cars, i'd go with bc coilovers. if you're dead set on shocks and lowering springs, tokico d-spec adjustable shocks are a popular option.

The best springs are H&R's.

Oops, sorry about that...I currently have the Tein Flex Coilover System in my car.

I heard about the tokico d-specs as well...i'm assuming no one puts springs on the oem struts/shocks...

So is it your intention to dump the coilovers and go with springs/shocks? You have the option of contacting Tein and inquiring if they have a softer spring for your coilovers, that would be what I'd do first....
