Factors: Ride Quality

I am currently in the market for either coils, bags or springs and shocks and I was just reading up and wanted to know what are the real factors that contributes to a comfortable ride! I was hoping to get a good drop, not more than 1.5" but still have that comfort that the stock set up gave, or even better!
The main thing for me right now is I just want to eliminate the tire to fender gap and not really the wheel to fender gap but if it can be done with the ride quality not being affected then it would be a welcoming plus for me! Not looking for anything bouncy either! I dont really race but I do a lot of freeway driving and being able to have your suspension respond very well in my turns would be good!
Some of the factors that I have looked into are:
1. Tire thickness
- How do these greatly contribute to ride quality?
- Do I get a bouncier ride if I go too thick for the walls?
- What's the recommended tire size combo front and rear for 20's or 19's?
2. Dampening
- What does dampening actually do?
- What does it cushion?
- What are the negative or positive points of setting it to stiffer or softer than OEM?
3. Spring Rate
- What are the negative effects or having a stiff or soft spring rate?
- How does this contribute to the ride becoming too bouncy
- How is spring rate a factor when your suspension already has dampening?
4. Rebound
- What exactly is rebound?
- Does having control of it become a real factor?
5. Bushing
- Do these help in ride quality or more for performance and responsiveness?
- With all the different materials for bushings out there, what would you get(Urethane, Rubber, Hard Rubber, Etc)?
Feel free to contribute to any other factors that could help me understand or make a decision on my suspension set up!
Im currently looking into getting 20s with 25505265/30/20 Front and 275or 285/30/20 Rear and KW v2 Coils but I want to know what are my options? The best bang for the buck, so to say!
Your help is much appreciated!
