Need to replace shocks, struts and springs.. Need something little stiffer.

I have a 2003 G35 Sedan with 175,000 miles. will need to replace shocks, struts, and springs.

I would like to get something as close as possible to stock, but would LOVE to be just a little stiffer than stocks.

Can someone knowledgeable suggest something.

thanks,

Do you want to go lower? if so you can go with 350z 2004 Shocks/struts & Springs setup. It will also be about a inch lower. a couple of guys on hear have that setup.

Why not just get coilovers? If you dont want to go too low keep the height higher.

Springs don't wear out. All the dampers on this car are shocks, not struts. Struts are typically pivoting units like you'd see in McPherson assemblies found on the front of many garden variety cars. Since you make no mention of wanting to lower the car, go to the For Sale section of this site and pick up a slightly used set of sedan "Sport" shocks or the shocks off the coupe. The Z shocks won't work unless you use lower springs because the shock assemblies are shortened a bit and sedan OEM length spring most likely won't fit correctly or will need a lot of compression to get the top hat back on. I've got the shocks (known as the "revised" verisons) off an 06 Z along with Z springs in the front and coupe springs in the back. The spring rate isn't significantly higher than my OEM Sport spring/shock setup, but the Z shocks have a lot more dampening. It makes for great handling, but impact harshness is bit more dramatic especially in cold weather.

I didn't intend to lower the car, however, if it is only slightly lower, I won't mind.
Basically I want something very close to stock, but a little stiffer. For some reason, I think that the regular non-sport 2003 sedan is just to bouncy from factory.

"Springs don't wear out" That is what I thought, but at 125,000 miles I replaced the shocks with OEM shocks, and for the last 15,000 miles the car feels funny. I don't believe it's the OEM shock that needs replacing again, as they only have less than 50,000 miles on them. (got 125,000 last time).

The car doesn't appear to bounce while going over speed bumps, or pot holes, however, the car does feel like the springs are worn and are too soft, there doesn't seem to be the "initial absorption" when you hit something, but the car doesn't really bounce. It feels like there is no resistance to the shock compressing fully.
Could I be wrong it is actually the shocks.

Springs are not really that expensive anyway, so I was thinking in replacing springs and shocks anyway but would prefer a slightly stiffer setup.

I am don't know much about the subject or the compatibility with the Z or coupe, that is why I need some advice.

I would recomend picking up a set of g35 coupe springs. Those can be had for a cheap price and are a little bit stiffer than your current springs.
Then pair those with some tokico shocks. That set-up sounds right up your alley. The coupe springs will lower your car about .5" though.

I am running a similar set-up as what I mentioned above and I am pretty happy with the set-up. I have 350z springs in the front and coupe springs in the rear with Tokico shocks.
