I think for the Axxis/pbr ULT pads they suggested at least 10 moderately firm stops from 40mph-10mph. That did the trick for both the ULT and Stoptechs.

Has anyone had any experience with the Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads?

It looks like they have lower dust emissions but at the cost of braking power.

Yes, I have used many Akebono, Sumitomo, Hitachi, Hawks, Duralast, Beck Arnley, among other pads including both ceramics and semi-metallic. Ceramics usually don't grab as hard as semi-metallic, and generally require more pedal pressure.

I tried at least six sets of ceramic pads from different brands. I will NEVER use ceramics again. I still have a few sets of used ceramic pads that I still need to sell on Craigslist for dirt cheap. I hate them so much.

im using them. they are decent pads for the street. i got them for the low dust and quiet operation characteristics... both of which have proven to be true. i think they stop comparably to the stockers, i wouldnt say better and i wouldnt say much worse. i dont do a lot of aggressive stopping either. i wouldnt use these pads if i were driving aggressively often, particularly stopping. for a street car, daily driver with occasional spirited bursts, particularly with some nice wheels that are hard to clean... then the hawk hp ceramic is a good choice. i would say my short review here is on par with the majority of other responses i read on here and other forums when doing brake pad research.

Street pads are all marketing. If you want a super hard intitial bite almost any semi-metallic compound will do. Beck/arnley, Wagner...blah blah

Used many ceramic pads on different vehicles. They are definitely not tailored for performance, but on low noise and low dust. One thing I notice is that ceramic pads are not as gentle on rotors as they usually claim. They eat through rotors the same as, if not more than, traditional semi-metallic.

People tend to generalize semi-metallic for noise, dust, and rotor wear. However many contemporary semi-metallic brake pads like Hawk HPS stop very well without killing rotors or emitting too much dust or noise. I use Duralast Gold semi-metallic pads on friend's cars. They perform excellent for just $30!
