Alignment without Camber arms
Alignment without Camber arms
Hey, so I was looking to get my coils installed, and i don't mind having a little natural camber... but the question is... will i still be able to get my toe in spec without camber arms (just stock components)?
from experience when I dropped my car on 350z S-techs I had natural camber my tires got eaten up in about a year so I purchased a camber kit to bring camber in a little and it through my toe off so I had to then get toe bolts.
point of the story i think natural camber is fine as long as you dont try to adjust it your toe should be fine. I tried to adjust my camber with my camber arm which then through off my toe.
If I would of known this I would of never gotten a camber kit and just dealt with natural camber and flipped my tires on the wheel and then I could of lasted 2 years for tires with natural camber which I didnt know you could do that till after either.

i have heard that what toymachine states works. I am just a poor college student, so cant really afford everything, and my tires only have a little left anyway so i am going to see what happens and then go from there. Hopefully this works out ok...
then again i may just stick with my stock suspension set up until i buy new tires and hope that i can then afford to perform suspension mods.

i'm dropped about that much and no camber kit. I've had my alignment done twice now and they've been able to get my toe and caster pretty close to spec. Camber's in the negatives of course.
that's great to know. hopefully, the design of the neo gens will compensate for the small differences in alignment specs...

Anytime you change camber, the toe will change proportionally. The amount of the change will vary with suspension geometry. With g's, from what I have seen doing many alignments, you can usually do a conventional drop in the rear without really making a huge mess of the specs. Much more than an inch and you better at least think about toe bolts.
^^ what he said.. unfortunately the dumb *** shops said oh hey your camber is way out you need a rear camber kit so I got one. Then they installed it and I got an alignment then they said hey look your toe is out now I was like WTF so now you need to get toe bolts and I got those and got another alignment.
In the end I am never listening to a shop again because I dumped a lot of money into rear camber kit and toe bolts and installation and 2 alignments waste of my time and most importantly MONEY

if you're going to drop it that much do yourself a favor and get at minimum a rear camber kit and toe bolts. They're pretty cheap, and you'll really appreciate the savings on tires
^^ very much agree.. I got the ichiba camber kit that comes with a toe bolt.. Anything over an inch drop u might as well buy the from camber arm kit as well.. Because u will need to adjust camber, caster and toe.. I just found that out today at the alignment shop. So, I'll be getting the SPC camber kit for the front.

I am dropped about 1.5" too and no problems up front. Been 2 years now with no front Camber kit and no problem yet.
I wish i could have said that today, but it looks like mine is out of wack.. so i need the camber arms. Who know maybe the coilover has a lot better design than just installing springs.. I guess when my strut/shock go out i'll get some coilovers myself..
