ckunk noise after coilover install

i installed some megan racing coilovers a couple weeks ago and the front drivers side only is making a clunk sound. at first i thought it was my upper control arm hitting from being low. but there are people that are lower than me so i dont think thats it anymore. anyone have any ideas?

I have done a complete suspension job replacing everything. Same porblem. My fix was tighting everything down again. Try that first.

^Same here but my clunking noise was in the rear when I installed my BCs. Re-tightened everything and the noise went away.

i checked today and everything is tightend. i also thought it might have been my sway bar because when i replaced the sway bar the end link got messed up so i didnt put the end link back on on the drivers side. but i replaced that today as well. and the noise is still there

I had that problem for a long time. I recently ordered new coilovers because I wanted something better. I did see that my motor mount on the driver side was sheared when we pulled the motor.

Is it under breaking, accelerating, turning, or just random?

if you feel it all the time I would drive slow to the shop and have them lift it up and check it out. Its something loose. My car did that and nothing felt loose when we put it on the lift. We try tighting everything cause we did'n know where it was coming from. When 3000+ LBS is sitting on something, one bolt not tight could feel tight when the car is in the air. When you put the car on the ground everything changes. So sometimes it could be hard to tell. Let us know how it turns out.

i installed springs recently and found I had left one of the strut top nuts a tad loose since it is such a PIA to tighten..
it seemed like it was tight, but I was able to get another turn on it and the sound went away

I could be doing it wrong, but I left the top nut loose when the strut was out out of the car (so I could turn the tophat to get it lined up correctly in the car) and then I tightened the strut nut once it was all bolted down..
it was really hard to get it tight in the car, there just wasnt enough room

you've probably done this, but if you haven't, make sure the adjustment rings / collars haven't worked themselves loose.

If you have not already done so, remove the dampening **** and use an alan wrench and tighten the 17mm bolt. Common problem apparently..

I have the same issue, but only on the REAR passenger side. I took it to the dealer, and they blamed my HKS coils. They also said my endlinks are perfect. I then had my mechanic drop the shock and tighten the top mount nut. No improvement.

This has been going on for over 6 years. I love my suspension. It's perfect on 3 corners, but the noise on the problem corner really has me frustrated.
