Camber shims vs washers
I lowered my car and the camber is slightly out of spec. I got the car aligned and the tech said that i might be able to get away with "washers" in the front to get it back to spec. I wasnt sure what he meant.
I have been trying to find something about washers on the forum but nothing comes up except for SPC's shims which are supposed to give 2 degrees of positive camber without adjustment. After seeing a picture of the location of the shims i wondered if they can be replaced with plain washers and if thats what the tech was referring to.
I dont know how thick the shims are, but lets say that they are 6mm which gives 2 degrees. A 3mm washer in the same spot should give 1 degree.
Thoughts? I hope that some suspension guru's can chime in.

how much camber? you can get arms to correct that. i dont like the idea of the shims IMO. if its not much out of spec...just leave it? im at -2.2f and -3.2 rear with my df210 springs.
The shim is simply a piece of metal that is tapered, its not very thick. How much are you dropped?
If you put washers/spacers behind the hubs, you will most likely have to add washers behind the sensors as well.

The idea is to give people with mild drop an alternate option to spending $$$$ on front arms. I read a lot or reviews on Ichiba front arms where people spent $$$ and got only .1 positive camber out of them. I think that many people in my situation (under 2 degrees) would appreciate a degree of positive camber for couple of bucks.

I still think you have a good chance of running into sensor alignment issues. The SPC kit requires (2) special washers (very thin) which have to be installed behind the wheel sensors when using their shims, otherewise the dash will light up.
Since you plan on using 1/2 the thickness of SPC's shim, you might get it to work if you use (1) of their spacers for the sensor. I doubt their washers alone cost much.
