Just got an '05 G35 coupe, noticed that my brakes squeal loudly ONLY when I'm backing up...Any ideas??

Sorry to revive old thread but I'm having the same issue as the OP does and no answers at all. If anyone cares to provide input it's greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for bumping, but it's part of having squeaky disc breaks.

Common issue with the G/Z factory pads, You can get aftermarket pads (I've had decent luck with EBC) to eliminate the squeal, at the cost of increased brake dust. YMMV

Does it happen all the time or only when your brakes are cold? I had the same issue after I upgraded my brakes as in pads, calipers, and rotors. However, the squeak goes away once they warm up.

Yes only when it's cold & reversing. I just bought the car with 70K miles on it and seems like the PO hasn't change the brakes so I might upgrade with those Brakemotive kit & hopefully I don't get those dreadful squeal...it's so embarrassing sometimes

Sorry to revive and old thread

This happens to me too. Only in reverse, something is making a loud squeal when I start to move whether I'm on or off the brakes. Pads and rotors are both fine and the ebrake is definitely not on. The solution that's worked for me a few times now is simply taking apart front and back brakes then giving everything a good clean then lube em back up...no more squealing. Again, sorry to revive an old thread but just in case anyone was wondering.
