I bought the hawk hps pads and power slot rotors off of tire rack. I've only installed the fronts so far, but already the brakes seem to grip better and kick in with less pedal throw.

Don't know much about those rotors/pads, but I just got some Centric Premium rotors for the fronts on my car and they definitely seem to stop better than the OEM rotors (or maybe that's because mine were worn, lol). Only costed me $72 shipped for 2 front rotors.

For pads I like the Akebono ProACT ceramics. WAY less dusting than OEM and they last forever. Not as good of an "initial bite" in stopping power but seems better than OEM when you really push on the pedal hard.

If money an issue id get OEM if not id go for the Akebonos or however you spell it, I had a local family shop replace my rotors and pads for 550$ thankfully went that route cuz they noticed my front passenger wheel bearing is shot, and drivers is just about there...JOY

Thats the same set up I've got. Where'd you get the centric rotors though?

Amazon.com. I just upgraded my pads from the ProACT's to the Akebono Street Performance series, and I'm liking these pads so far. Just as quiet and dust-free as the ProACT's but seems to brake better. A little better initial bite and they don't lose a bit of performance when in the rain.

I never liked the Hawk HPS pads. I wouldn't take free Hawk HPS pads if someone offered me new pads. Why? They only worked FOR ME when brakes are up to normal operating temperatures and had crappy bite when cold. I had the brembo BBK.
